Washington D.C. Georgetown

Georgetown in Washington D.C. was founded in 1751 and features some of the oldest properties in the city. Before the White house and U.S. capitol buildings were constructed, Georgetown was a thriving neighborhood with cobblestone streets. Goods were delivered via the C&O canal and towpath which is a popular running and cycling trail today.

Georgetown is known for its upscale shopping and restaurants and landmarks like Dumbarton Oaks, the Old Stone House. The neighborhood is home to Georgetown University the oldest Catholic and Jesuit university in the United States.
