Virginia is nicknamed Old Dominion and also called the "Mother of Presidents" since 8 U.S. Presidents were born there, more than any other state.

‍Virginia is 42,744 square miles. The capital of Virginia is Richmond. The Blue Ridge Mountains dominate the western part of Virginia and include the Shenandoah National State Park.

Arlington Virginia sits on the Potomac River across from the District of Columbia.

Arlington is home to the Pentagon, ReaganNational Airport, the foreign service institute, The Department ofDefense, and many more federal agency headquarters and offices. Some buildings in Arlington date back to the mid-1700s.

Old Town Alexandria is one of the oldest cities in America, in fact, it predates the American Revolution. There are row houses in Old Town built in the 1700s in fact Captains Row, a cobblestone street between SouthUnion and South Lee boasts some of the oldest Federal-style homes in town.

There are water taxis and cruise boats on the Potomac River for easy travel to National Harbor in Maryland.
